My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Today the Church celebrates the beautiful Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Today we are reminded of the promise of Salvation. In simple terms, the Blessed Virgin Mary was the first Christian who accepted the call to bring forth the saviour of the world. Being the first Christian, she was the first to experience the promise of salvation that we recite in the creed ever Sunday, "I believe in the resurrection of the body and life everlasting." Today we are called to follow Our Lady in complete fidelity to the Lord Jesus and to have complete trust in him as she did. Let us recall the words of Mary in Sacred Scripture when she said "Do what ever he tells you". Friends, today let us turn our eyes to Our Lady and stare into her maternal eyes and draw strength from them in times of hardships and trials. May she hear us and protect us! Yours in Christ, +Columba Macbeth-Green OSPPE DD See MoreSee Less
