An interesting event happening right now in our Diocese and making history.The Diocese welcomes Michael Galovic to Forbes who gave a small presentation on his icons. Michael was moved by the stories of the drought in the diocese and painted an icon of "Our Lady of Mercy and Compassion" to donate to us. The icon will travel across the diocese over the next year as we call upon heaven to send rain and to ask Our Lady to bring Mercy and Compassion to our communities. Thank you Michael for your gift to the diocese.

Bishop visited Bourke this past weekend.Yesterday at Bourke we gave thanks to God for the 50th anniversary since St Mother Teresa walked on the soil of Bourke and opened the 1st Missionary of Charity foundation in Australia. The sisters have worked so hard over the 50 years ensuring the Catholic faith is taught and loved by the people of the Bush, especially among our Aboriginal community in Bourke. Thankyou Sisters for everything you have done and your legacy is will always be set in the soil of Bourke! May St Mother Teresa always intercede for the people of Bourke. My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Today we celebrate the feast of St Therese of the Infant Jesus. A beautiful feast of one of the Churches most popular saints. Popular because her little way have inspired so many on this journey of faith. I am also pleased to announce that the relics of St Therese will be travelling to the Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes from overseas on an Australian tour from Febuary 26-28 2020!
